ThaliKhali is built for Indian restaurant rules. This page lists what it does for you; filing your returns stays with you and your accountant.
1. GST bills
- Bills are numbered in an unbroken series for each financial year (April to March). Each counter has its own series, so bills made offline never clash.
- A bill gets its number only when it is settled, and a cancelled bill keeps its number, so there are no gaps.
- The bill carries the right title for your registration: Tax Invoice (regular), Bill of Supply with the composition line (composition) or Bill (unregistered).
- Tax invoices show your GSTIN, the SAC for restaurant service, and the taxable value, CGST and SGST for each tax rate, with the round-off shown.
- Reports total your sales and tax by rate for each day, month or range, and export for your accountant.
2. FSSAI
Your FSSAI licence or registration number is printed on every bill.
3. Records you cannot lose
- Settled bills are never deleted or edited; cancellations record who, when and why.
- Sensitive actions at the counter are written to an audit log.
- You can download all your bills at any time, and we keep nightly encrypted backups.
4. Customer data (DPDP Act, 2023)
- Each outlet gets its own privacy notice for customers, linked from its website page and e-bills.
- ThaliKhali records whether each customer agreed to WhatsApp messages, and when; customers can stop messages from their e-bill.
- You can erase a customer on request: their name and number go, while their bills stay for your GST records.
- Our own handling of personal data is set out in our privacy policy.
5. Payments
- Online payments go straight to your own payment gateway account; ThaliKhali never holds your money.
- We never see or store card numbers or UPI PINs; your gateway keys are stored encrypted.
- Every bill records how it was paid (cash, UPI, card or online), and reports split the day by payment mode.
6. WhatsApp messages
Bills and summaries are sent through Meta's official WhatsApp Business service, only to customers who agreed, and every message is recorded with its result.
